Spike TV's Scream 2009

Not much to say right now, but I found this story on the internet and wanted to share it: Scream 2009.There doesn't seem to be very many surprises, the very popular Transformers, Twilight, and Star Trek all won awards.

I'd just like to take this moment to show the female readers what audience members got to enjoy setting their eyes upon. Wait for it....

For anyone who doesn't know, that's Mr. Johnny Depp, looking spectacular as always. I think I'd faint if I was at an award show and he came onstage. Depp accepted the award for "most anticipated sci-fi movie" for Alice in Wonderland.

  2. I was gonna come in with "Isn't Depp older than Rourke" but then I looked it up and turns out I'm wrong. :) I don't know if I really see it, but maybe the hat does it like you said...

  3. He does NOT look like Mickey Rourke in that picture. I am offended that you even tried to draw that comparison Kirk.

I absolutely love Joohnny Depp. Not just because he is absolutely gorgeous, but because he is a talented actor. I was watching "Gonzo," the documentary about Hunter S. Thompson, and Depp was the narrator. He played the Thompson-like character in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," and he mastered Thompson's speech and disposition, so it only made sense that Depp narrated a documentary about Thompson's life. I think what really go me though was that Depp was INTERESTING while simply reading passages from Thompson's books. He grabs the viewers attention, and holds onto them until the last moment.

I could go on and on, and start talking about other Depp movies I love, but there is only so much time in the day (cough Edward Scissorhands cough). I think it is safe to say that he is a creative genious, and an overall talented guy!

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Captain Kirk.

  5. Not even close...sorry hun. :) And while McGregor is amazing and one of my favourite actors...he's not at the level of Mr. Depp. He's very close...but there's only one Johnny Depp. :)

  7. Okay, just the pic...fair enough. But Depp>>>McGregor...for me anyway. ;) McGregor is awesome, especially in Moulin Rouge. Still gotta see Trainspotting one of these days.

  8. Ok, here's my 2 cents. Really like Ewan McGregor and Johnny Depp. Neither looks remotely like Mickey Rourke (ugh!).

For all you Ewan McGregor fans, google "Long Way Down" and Long Way Round" in conjunction with his name. In 2004, MdGregor and his buddy Charlie Boorman travelled for 3.5 months by motorcycle, starting in London England, through Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Alaska and Canada, ending up on NYC. This trip was filmed and made into the documentary "Long Way Round". Then in 2008 the duo travelled again by motorcycle from Scotland to South Africa, and this trip was made into the documentary "Long Way Down". The first documentary was the first time I had paid attention to Ewan McGregaro and I went "WHO is THAT?"!

But for some reason I still cannot get my head around the movie Moulin Rouge, no matter WHO is in it, right, Amanda?

Love your blogs, Jen. Keep 'em coming!

  9. Thanks for the comment! :)

I have seen an episode or two of "Long Way Round", and it's an amazing feat for the two of them. I can't believe they did a trip like that again! I can see them doing another one at some point as well.
